They cut this tree down. They said it was poorly. You don't realise how attached to a tree you can get; this was the tree my daughter always hid behind when she was running down the road, her and her Dad chasing round it.
I felt a great sense of sadness that it had gone, taking that memory with it.
My friend Steve in Berlin suggests this song,

Alexandra the singer always sang sad songs and died in a RTA in 1969, one year after this song was recorded.
